Not That I Like to Copy...

...But I am.

Hello.

My good friend scooterbug8515 recently set up a blog here and I suddenly thought, "Hey! That's a great idea. Now I have somewhere to rant about the sections of my life that do not revolve around HPFF". These are few and far between but if you know me in any capacity you know that if I don't vent then I explode. Seriously. Me in all out Slytherin mode is not good at all.

Thankfully the only thing I really have to vent today is the fact that friends in my hometown are mean. Very. Here's how the conversation (I say conversation but it was text messages) went:

Friend: Wanna go out tonight?
Me: Sure! I don't have a lot of money though so is it ok if we do the usual?
Friend: Well no. We were planning on going to Buddies or Red Hot.
Me: I don't know. I've got enough for Red Hot but not Buddies.
Friend: Well Fay wants to go Buddies so we will
Me: Ok. Guess I can't go then. Have a nice time
Friend: We will.

Nice huh? Now I wouldn't be too fussed about missing out if it wasn't for the fact that 1) She doesn't even like Buddies and 2) the double standards of it all.

Out of the three of us, Al is the only one with a full-time job. Both Fay and myself are still students and I work part-time. Needless to say that we rarely have a lot of money. Now, they know that I'm saving for a trip to the States over Christmas and that the money comes directly out of my account the day that I get paid and put in a savings account. I don't get paid again for another seven days (as they well know) so money is tight. Normally this isn't an issue because we will just drive around for a bit, get a cheap take-out or go to Tesco for food and then find somewhere to park up and have a good time. About once a month though we will go out for a sit down meal. Well, most of the time, Fay has to borrow money from Al. The standing debt there is about £100 ($155.85)

Now I hate to borrow money from anyone, even my parents and as such I have gone two weeks before with a mere £3 ($5) The only times that I have "borrowed" is when someone else has booked tickets for something. I then give them the money for hat ticket as soon as I see them. Well, Al offers to loan money when Fay doesn't have enough. Did she offer the same to me? I think not.

Honestly? It's not that big of an issue and I wouldn't have accepted anyway but it's the double standards of it all. (Did I mention that Fay's parents are pretty wealthy and give her £100 ($155.85) a week?) I wonder where all this money goes?

Well, I'm going to stop complaining and being evil now because it does not become me.

On a happier note, my fund for my trip to the states currently standards at £100 ($155.85) in the bank and $41.44 of spending money. I need to get $1951 in total so hopefully I can!

Well, that was a depressing entry. Happy Friday 13th (my fave day ever!)

  1. It's okay that you stole from me. My blog won't always be a venting I just want to document life in a funny way so to speak. Right now crappy life sort of works.
